Grateful for Christmas week and the essence of God

I watched the moon yesterday  morning on the way to work, then watched the moon rise on the way home from work last night. Actually it was more of the moon’s essence rising through and behind clouds. I know what the moon looks like–its color and light and shape. What I saw was a dim light, not really moon shaped as the light was on the clouds around it as well, but through the dimness, I still knew it was the moon. With all that is going on right now in the world–the national and personal financial turmoil, friends with cancer, families torn apart by death, so many unanswered questions, sometimes it’s hard to see God in it and through it all. But even when I can only dimly see His essence through the mists of this world, I know He’s still here, still sovereign, and still working. My last gratitude list of the year–over 1,000 gifts this year alone….
