  • sweet snuggles on the couch with my wee little man
  • gluten-free chocolate truffles for my girlie

3 gifts from your Savior:

  • His name shall be called “Immanuel”, which means “God with us.” Matthew 1:23
  • “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.” John 14:27
  • “I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever;  that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.” John 14:16-17

A gift hung, held, heard:

  • camel and tent hung on our Jesse TreeDSCN6295
  • Wonder at a tiny ladybug held in the parkDSCN6274
  • I listen to this every year since Ann Voskamp first shared it. Still my favorite rendition of this carol…

3 gifts ugly-beautiful:

  • ugly–a week of coughing, laryngitis, vaporub over feet, cough medicine, motrin, apple cider vinegar and raw garlic–beautiful finally clearing up, sounding better, resting well
  • ugly–messy kitchen with sugar icing, sprinkles, and crumbs everywhere!–giggles and fun with the kids and beautiful, creative cookies to share
  • ugly–the threat of annihilation of God’s people in 167 BC, through assimilation to Greek culture and those who refused to compromise their faith and give up the worship of God; beautiful–8 nights to celebrate the faithfulness of the LORD, as the oil for the lamp did not run out, and the worship of the Lord could begin again. Happy Hannukah!
