Summer 2012

While the calendar may say it’s not summer any more, it still feels like it here in Nashville, and will for at least another month. As usual, summer flew by, almost without my noticing. And what a summer it was!

It was a summer of blessings of friends.

The lovelies under the maple tree. I LOVE all these girls…

It was a summer for paletas, eaten quickly to beat the heat…

It was a summer for playing in the rain, when we got it and improvising when we didn’t…

It was a summer to celebrate 50, 25, 23, and 18 years of marriage with a cruise

Eighteen years!

It was a summer to grow a garden, in 109 degree heat and no rain in July

It was a summer of packing up boxes of cubicle stuff and a job ending

It was a summer of sunflowers

It was a summer of guitar-picking on the porch and homemade ice cream with friends

It was a summer to welcome home soldiers

It was a summer to read under the maple in the “cool” of the evening

Happy Summer 2012!
