Grateful for a week overflowing with blessings

It’s been a week of sweet blessings from friends for a daughter, for help getting ready, for cleaning, baking, shopping, writing, listening, worshipping and spending time with amazing women and daughters. I could simply say I had 41 blessings at my house Saturday, and the list would not even scratch the surface. It was a day to treasure, to marvel about and ponder often in my heart. Here’s my attempt at capturing the blessings of the week:

  • a scripture given for such a time as this
  • garage sale find perfect for a party
  • polished silver, gleaming crystal and glass, and two little boys building towers of blocks to knock over, oblivious to the finery around them 🙂
  • Mimi finding the perfect dress
  • offers of friends to help set up
  • small daughter cutting roses to fill the house with fragrance and beauty
  • paletas before supper on a summer-like evening
  • three generations of women in our family blessing the fourth
  • friends coming to laugh, cry, talk, pray, eat together–so blessed beyond measure by these sisters in Christ!
  • ripe strawberries dipped in sour cream and brown sugar–yum!
  • mint tea punch in the heat
  • making bread after a long absence
  • watching little girls turn into young ladies
  • watching those same girls go out and play Sardines after the tea party:)
  • time alone with the boy after it all was over
  • supermoon shining bright
  • Children School of Worship leaders, who live out and share that children are never to young to learn to worship the King
  • being lead into the throne room of God by little ones in Sunday best, singing, signing and saying long passages of Scripture carefully hidden in their hearts
  • Sunday afternoon naps
  • the best kind of piano recitals, where nervous kids can use their music, boys are allowed to play “Heart and Soul”, and the director of the school asking us to applaud before each child plays to show how proud we are and after because they played their song
  • lightning, thunder and rain to wash away the heat of the day

What a beautiful summary of a perfect day. I just can’t tell you how sad I am to have missed it but I know in my heart that I was where I was suppose to be. Please give Emily a hug for me and remind her how very much I love her! (You can pass that along to the entire family!!!)

This was an amazing day…one to cherish for a lifetime. Thanks for
inviting us, we were so blessed to be a part of the day and to have
the privilege of sharing in Emily’s (and the Riggs) life! Love you all.
