St. Patrick’s Day is in a couple of weeks, so I thought I’d be organized and post ideas actually before March 17th:). Here are some links I thought you’d enjoy.
This is a written version of St. Patrick’s Breastplate, a prayer or hymn attributed to St. Patrick.
Here is the worship team from our church performing St. Patrick’s Breastplate a year or so ago. It ends with an Irish dance, so your kids will enjoy it.
Here’s a bio of St Patrick on the web, which is quite short, but pretty good.
Here’s a link to a Montessori rainbow activity , if you want to go more rainbow/ shamrock activity.
Here’s another link with a preschool book on the story of St. Patrick and a simple shamrock activity. I love her website!
I enjoyed St Patrick Pioneer missionary to Ireland by Michael McHugh as a longer book about Patrick’s life. It is out of print and I loaned out my copy and can’t find it. If you are out there and have it, can I have it back:)?
And of course I’d be remiss if I didn’t include a recipe for Irish Soda Bread.
Enjoy the day, and remember to thank God for courageous men like Patrick who spread the word of God and changed the world!
