On Veterans Day

For all the men and women who served, through all the wars and peace time: to the dough-boys who lost lungs to mustard gas; to the nurses who take care of the wounded; to the young men who stormed the beaches of Normandy and freed the prisoners in concentration camps; To those who never made it home and those who wondered why they did. To the chaplains who serve on tour after tour, to Annapolis men who run military Post Offices in Afghanistan, and Air Force men on duty in undisclosed locations.  To the mothers and sisters and girlfriends and wives and children who watch, wait, pray and count the months and days and hours at home (or on post):

Thank you.

Salute from an Army vet and a boy who loves to wear camouflage pants
