Another week of grateful living

Spring teased us again this week. A couple of days were downright cold–45 is too chilly to plant my cool weather crops–too chilly for me, not them. They’re finally in their little garden box at our friends’ farm, just in time for the storms that will pass through today. Sometimes its’ harder to find things to be grateful for when the days are cloudy, or when your life seems stuck in a season of winter time. Regardless, spring is coming, and God is working, even if it’s hidden for a time. Here’s my list:

  • little boys playing in a sandbox
  • blowing dandelions
  • windy picnics
  • cherry blossoms floating through the air in the breeze
  • planting seeds in the dirt
  • Mennonite country in spring
  • elders inquiring of the Lord
  • birds celebrating spring with song
  • waffles with strawberries and ice cream
  • finally, a day of rest for our family together after an exhausting week
